Enhanced Cooperation with Countries along Belt & Road

SAC Administrator Tian Shihong signed standardization cooperation agreements with the heads of standardization organizations in 9 countries along the Belt and Road during a signing ceremony held in Beijing on September 12, 2016.

The agreements were signed between SAC and Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Macedonia as well as Turkey with the attendance of SAC Vice-Administrator Yin Minghan and delegates from other countries.

Tian Shihong pointed out, the signing ceremony is a detailed measure to put the Belt and Road Initiative in place. SAC would give full play of standardization work to better serve the social and economic development and strengthen the infrastructural construction plan and technical standards system docking with the countries along the Belt and Road.

The signing ceremony is one of the serial activities at the 39th ISO General Assembly held in Beijing from Sept. 10 to 14, during which each party had reached consensus on effective communication and cooperation mechanism, international standardization cooperation, etc.

According to the agreements, SAC will strengthen the mutual beneficial cooperation and interconnection, standards mutual recognition and application in the fields of common interests with these countries, and jointly promote the coordination and consistence of product standards, reduce and eliminate technical barrier to trade. By far, SAC has signed cooperation agreements with 21 countries along the Belt and Road.
