Current Guidance

With an increasing frequency of China’s participation in international standardization activities, more and more experts and leaders in international standardization are coming to visit China. In this season of blooming spring flowers, we welcomed two distinguished guests from international standardization organizations：James E. Matthews III, Vice-President of IEC and Chair of IEC/SMB, and Dr. Elisabeth Stampfl-Blaha, ISO Vice-President (technical management). On March 29, Mr. Matthews accommodated our interview on issues including the IEC development outline, the focus on future works and the electrical vehicle standardization, etc. On April 9, we had the privilege to interview Dr. Elisabeth Stampfl-Blaha. She gave us an introduction on the ISO Strategic Plan 2011-2015 and the latest ISO development concept ‘Simpler, Faster and Better’. She also highly recognized China’s important role and great contribution in international standardization work. In the newly established column of this issue, “International Exchange & Cooperation”, we reported in great detail two leaders’ visit to China and two exclusive interviews with them. From this issue on, “International Exchange & Cooperation” column will be a permanent section of this magazine, aiming to report China’s standardizationactivities in the international exchange and cooperation.

Current issue presents comprehensive reports, around the works in the national electrical instruments standardization, in columns “Exclusive Interview”, “Spotlight” , “Enterprise Standardization”, and ”Research and Exploration”, etc. In the “Exclusive Interview” column, we interviewed Mr. Chen Bo, Secretary-General of SAC/TC 104 and Secretary of IEC/TC 85. He answered our questions thoroughly on the work progress of SAC/TC 104 and IEC/TC 85, research and conversion of international standards, how to participate in international standardization for our enterprise, etc. In the “Special Report” column, we introduced two projects which won the first prize of China Standards Innovation and Contribution Award in 2010.
